Hollmann Hollis, from Florida, is the professional reborn artist behind the Little Chick Reborn Nursery and its related website hhgalleries.com. Hollis is not only a reborn artist, she is proficient in many other fine arts, especially in watercolor, giclee and lithograph. In addition, she is also a photographer and provides signature photographic services through her own website.
As a reborn artist, all of Hollis reborn dolls are OOAK, hand-painted, hand-weighted and individually customized. On vinyl-blank-doll-parts, she hand-painted many layers with heat-set oil, carefully baked the vinyl parts between each layer to preserve them and create that desired translucent skin effect. She captured the tiniest details, including the deep veins and arteries and also the teeny capillaries that can be appreciated when closely holding the doll. She is also very careful when adding other effects, such as pores, moist mucosa, dewy lips, and tear-damps eyes. She prefers to hand-root the eyelashes using fine mohair, and does an incredible work finely painting the nails. All these small details add incredible realism to all of Hollmann’s creations. She carefully weights the head, the limbs and the body of the reborn doll with fine glass beads, and adds “baby-fat”, made of poly-pellets within a soft fiber-fill stuffing, which makes the doll feel and move in your arms as a real child would.
