Bambole Del Cuore
Cristina Maria Ortolani, originally Italian, is the artist behind Bambole Del Cuore. She started her reborning career 10 years ago and, since then, has been highly recognised through many prizes and awards for her rooting and reborning technique, such as “Artist of the Month July 2014” by PRA * ISE and Baby of the Month April 2014 by Exceptional Reborn Artistry Guild.
Cristina has a great passion for reborning, putting all her love, devotion, and attention to the smallest details of every single doll she creates. She always uses high quality materials to ensure her reborn babies look highly realistic and are treasured by their new families.
She uses Genesis Heat Set Paints, non-toxic permanent colors that require cooking in a special oven. During the reborning process, she applies multiple layers of color to get a real skin effect; Genesis Matte Varnish is applied as the final layer to protect the vinyl from deterioration and to obtain that particular skin texture. Cristina always uses high quality Lauscha glass eyes for her reborn dolls, changing the color according to her personal preference.
Cristina uses expert micro-rooting technique to root the babies’ hair, which requires meticulous work and lots of time. She uses fine needles and high quality Delta Dawn Premium mohair, inserting one or two hairs at a time.
In order to give the doll a realistic weight, Cristina applies microglass, virgin polyfill and “baby fat” techniques to fill the head, limbs and body. Besides, her reborn dolls are always equipped with a magnetic pacifier, diaper, intimate body and shoes.
