My Littlest Blessings
Betty Jane Coffman is a recognised reborn artist from Virginia, the United States. She fell in love with reborn dolls quite accidentally. It all started when she was looking for a lifelike baby doll for her daughter as a gift in 2006. Very soon then she started to learn the reborning art to satisfy her curiosity.
It is fascinating how, since then, reborning as an art has played an extremely important and meaningful part in her life in every sense.
Unfortunately, in late 2008, Betty Jane Coffman experienced a long traumatic episode in her life. As a consequence, she developed PTSD with transient disabling anxiety disorder. In 2017, Betty was forced to retire from her full time job due to a severe increase of PTSD that made her completely immobilized.
Betty went through a very tough period when she was unable to leave her home, drive or work. She had to spend many long months of intense therapy and behaviour modification to get herself recovered, mentally and physically. During this time of treatment, reborning was a part of her therapeutic practice, which allowed her to find peace, joy, and happiness during this time of heaviness. Reborning was a way for her to escape from anxiety and worry. Therefore, reborning became one thing that could bring her a sense of normalcy, and this translated into her becoming a full time artist.
Despite all the difficulties and unfortunate events that she has experienced, Betty is quite thankful and believes it was actually God’s plan, Who was aiming to bring her into a better place where she is able to do this amazing work.
